Description
The Labour Ministry's scholarship schemes provide financial assistance to the children of workers in Beedi, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, and the Cine industry. These scholarships are designed to support the education of children from families engaged in these labor-intensive sectors, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent them from pursuing academic success. The scholarships cover a range of educational levels, from primary to professional courses, with the amount of financial assistance varying accordingly.
Eligibility
- Either of the parents of the students should be Beedi, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine worker with at least six months of service.
- Total monthly income of the worker's family from all sources should not exceed Rs. 10,000 for Beedi workers, Rs. 10,000 for supervisory and managerial capacity in mines, and Rs. 8,000 per month for Cine workers.
- The applicant must have passed the last qualifying examination in the first attempt.
- The educational institute must be Government/Government recognized.
- Students pursuing studies through correspondence are not eligible.
Application Procedure
- Visit the National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in).
- Register as a new user with valid credentials.
- Fill in the application form with all required details.
- Upload necessary documents including photo, ID card, bank passbook, previous year's mark sheet, and income certificate.
- Submit the application and keep a printout for future reference.
